Beaver Luminescers are used in a variety of manufacturing applications to create economical marking media for visual inspection and luminescence sensing equipment. For visual inspection of materials, Beaver Luminescers provide a fluorescent mark which is invisible under ordinary light and intensely visible under U.V. light. For example, low concentrations of Beaver Luminescers mixed with adhesives permit visual inspection of proper adhesive coverage during manufacture without defacing the finished goods. At the end of the manufacturing process, invisible marks made with Beaver Luminescers do not require labor intensive removal. Beaver Luminescers also provide an excellent registration mark for luminescence sensors which are able to handle more demanding applications than traditional photoelectric contrast sensors. By switching from contrast sensors to luminescence sensors registering Beaver Luminescers, productivity can be increased in demanding applications, such as where the mark must remain invisible or where the background is irregular or does not provide adequate contrast. Typical applications include sensing tamper-evident seals, clear labels, invisible registration marks, adhesives and coatings, and quality control applications. Beaver Luminescers are also used in the detection of cracks and leaks. Beaver Luminescers were used to inspect electrical potting compounds aboard the Apollo spacecraft and the Lunar Excursion Module, and are now being used aboard the International Space Station. Beaver Luminescers also absorb U.V. wavelengths and protect plastics film and other matrices from U.V. degradation. Artwork and Design Beaver Luminescers can be incorporated into paint, plastic and textiles to produce long lasting, intensely fluorescent special effects in all colors of the visible spectrum. These special effects include stunning invisible treatments, dual images, starscapes and day-to-night effects in artwork, toys, fashions, theatrical costumes and scenery. Beaver Luminescers and U.V. spot lighting also produce captivating billboards, signs and other advertising.
